Teaching 🏫
- Please inform yourself about the learning level, the learning difficulties as well as the work and social behavior of the students in Cockpit before the beginning of the lessons. Determine which learning steps have been performed so far. If you are unclear, ask the school coordinator or the relevant site manager.
- Please determine for each student:in what will be learned in class.
- Please think about a methodical approach and prepare the learning material. Be prepared if students do not have their notebooks and books(Plan B).
- If you are in the
alerno
-site, always pick up your students and trial students personally from the waiting area. When you work at school, your students sit in the assigned classroom and wait for you. - Always greet your students in a friendly manner and introduce yourself and the students to the new students.
Design 📖
At the beginning of a new tutoring course, you will greet the students in a friendly manner at the school or location together with the school coordinator or location manager. This is followed by a round of introductions and welcomes. This serves the purpose of getting to know each other, communicating the goals of the course, outlining the process and the
alerno
-rules.
Class schedule
- First of all, you need to establish the presence of the students :
-
- At school: Have students sign attendance sheets .
- In location: you take attendance in your course. Missing students will be noted later in the minutes.
Please inform the school coordinator or the site management as soon as a student:in the course has been absent without excuse several times!
- Prepare working material
- Short circle talk about learning achievements and progress in school. Please address each student personally. Positively reinforce achievements through praise and recognition . Avoid general topics.
- Determine what is to be practiced or learned. Especially content or learning paths that have not been understood should be practiced. Memorizing vocabulary is not one of them.
- Focus on the development phase: Your goal should be to reach this phase as quickly as possible.
- Work phase: Go from student to student and quietly discuss or explain the learning paths and exercises to be worked on.
- Important: Make sure that all students get the same supervision time!
- Result control in the last 15 minutes. Make sure that all tasks have been completed in full and correctly. If not everything has been accomplished, this must be noted in the log system.
⚠️
During class, you will fill out the protocol template in note form . You transfer your notes to the protocol system after the class. They serve as proof of work and are a prerequisite for the payment of your fee.
Conflict settlement
In order to be able to guarantee a quiet course of instruction, the alerno rules of conduct apply in the location and the consequences agreed upon with the school apply in the school.
Disruptions of the lessons as well as endangering other students will not be tolerated!
- Student:in is not motivated and cooperative
-
- No or incomplete school supplies
- Incorrect or no information about grades and class work
- Pupil:in absent without excuse
⚠️ In the school, please inform the school coordinator, who will inform the school to work on a solution of the
problem to work on.
⚠️ In the site, please inform your site manager who will call the parents .
- Student:in disrupts group lessons
Please prevent a student from interfering with his/her classmates’ learning.
-
- Ask the student to be quiet.
- In the site: the student:in comes to the site management or to an extra room.
- At school: you act according to the rules and agreements with the school and inform the school coordination.
- Request site management to inform parents if student:in is repeatedly disruptive.

Documentation 📄
Please enter the class minutes, grades , and classwork dates in the minutes system (Cockpit). Write down for each student shortly after each lesson what was worked on and how the student was motivated. The protocol must have been prepared by the next day . Only then will the fee be credited. With the help of the protocol we can inform the schools and the parents about the school development.
Don’t worry, at the site your site manager will handle the parent meetings and these will also be recorded in the log system.
